Goodbye Gypsy

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

Thank you for the last year. I loved the joy that you brought to our house. Every morning you would rocket out of your crate and head for the outside, yipping and yelling along the way. I loved how you would run up to Gaia and Oliver and give them kisses. You were just sweet.

I am so very sorry that we did not know that you had gotten out of the back yard. I miss you terribly. I will keep it fixed in my mind that someone has found you and they are providing the love and affection you need.

Goodbye my sweet gypsy girl...

Best Wizard Hangout
The Philosopher’s Stone

North Oak Cliff is a little more magical thanks to Philosopher Stone owners Angela and Kel Landrith. Their Bishop Arts shop features a vast selection of magic wands, occult curios, tarot cards, and “witchy wear,” all designed to inspire your inner wizard. Fret not, muggles: there’s plenty of incense, wooden chalices, and Celtic jewelry to appease pagans and non-pagans alike. 408 N. Bishop Ave., Ste. 104. 214-942-2600.

Can you believe that!

A Note From the Universe

Fascinating, isn't it, how there are those who decide upon living in abundance... and the next thing you know, they're swimming in it.

There are those who think about being more creatively fulfilled, and as if by magic, all the right steps, connections, and inspirations present themselves.

And then there are those who simply want more friends, laughter, and song, and their life becomes a celebration.

Mind you, I didn't say everyone. Some want these things, they even want them real "bad," but they simply don't put themselves within my reach by physically preparing the way, acting "as if," or "buying the shoes."

I am really pissed at my work.  I just found out that my annual bonus will be almost $5000 less than last year.  Not only did I get a better review than last year, I worked my butt off and traveled about 50% of my time to get this freaking product launched.

I voiced my frustration to my boss and she said she would talk to her manager.  I doubt anything is going to happen about it.  I think it is time to get the resume cleaned up.  what really gets me is that the company is doing better than ever and they are asking me to do even more work than I already was doing.

AAAAARRRGGGGG!!!!

Gypsy loves my step son Ryan. When he leaves for school in the morning she runs around the house crying and looking for him. This morning I found her sleeping on his pillow!

Gypsy Fun

This is hilarious.  Gypsy has really settled in to the house.  I think she has actually become Ryan's dog but that is ok.  the fun part is that she has taken a liking to oliver my orange tabby.  She loves to run up to him and lick his face.  Needless to say this makes him crazy.  This morning I opened the back door to let her out and she took a flying leap at him and kissed him and licked him all over his face.  He was not amused.  I could not stop laughing at the look on his face.  He was completely put out and does not want to have anything to do with her.  She on the other hand thought it was great fun.

Meet Gypsy. Kel found heron Craigs List for my birthday. She has a wonderful temperment and has fit right in to our house. She is an extremely smart dog and has already learned to sit in the couple of days that I have had her.

Woohoo!  My boss just called and I do not have to fly to California next week.  I get a reprieve until the following week!

I am tired today.  There is so much going on that I need to remember to take some time for myself.  I have not been doing that lately and that is not a good thing.  I am looking forward to a weekend at home this weekend.  My boss gave me next Monday and Tuesday off to celebrate my birthday and get some needed rest and relexation.   I have one more trip this month and then I hope to not travel for a few weeks.

I am working hard to adapt to her style of managing.  I must be doing okay because I received a good yearly review last week.

I am not Ready to Make Nice

Add to Memories Tell a Friend

There is a situation in my life that I need to deal with now.  I have let it simmer in the back of my head.  I thought that I was the one who needed to apologize and make peace.  WRONG.  I will not be taken advantage of or used in this manner again.  I think the following song says it pretty well.

Not Ready To Make Nice
By the Dixie Chicks

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could
They say time heals everything
But I’m still waiting

I’m through with doubt
There’s nothing left for me to figure out
I’ve paid a price
And I’ll keep paying

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I know you said
Can’t you just get over it
It turned my whole world around
And I kind of like it

I made my bed and I sleep like a baby
With no regrets and I don’t mind sayin’
It’s a sad sad story when a mother will teach her
Daughter that she ought to hate a perfect stranger
And how in the world can the words that I said
Send somebody so over the edge
That they’d write me a letter
Sayin’ that I better shut up and sing
Or my life will be over

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

I’m not ready to make nice
I’m not ready to back down
I’m still mad as hell and
I don’t have time to go round and round and round
It’s too late to make it right
I probably wouldn’t if I could
‘Cause I’m mad as hell
Can’t bring myself to do what it is you think I should

Forgive, sounds good
Forget, I’m not sure I could

But I’m still waiting

Had a great weekend.  Puck took his Minerval at the Scarlet Woman Lodge in Austin.  We drove down after a fabulous day at the store.  I loved meeting the Brothers and Sisters at SWL.  I hope that I will get to spend more time with them in the future.  However,   I remember now that I am not in college and staying up until 4:00 AM can take a toll on your body!

Ryan went over to his mothers for the weekend.  I am very happy about that.  I spend a lot of time trying to get him to go over there but it only seems to take about 1 out of 10 times :).  Caleb came over Sunday night and we had a nice family dinner.  I swear I have had more ribs since I married Kel than in my entire life.  They are much more into meat than I am!

I am getting the stores website launched today.  Look for it tomorrow or Wednesday at www.philosophersstoneshoppe.com!

Mercy and I had a wonderful weekend with Walter and Maeven in Houston this weekend.  Celebrated Imbolc on Friday night with a new ritual to work on Lead to Gold.  It was great seeing so many familiar faces.  I love doing dramatic ritual!

I also spent a good part of Saturday with [info]saveena.  Thank you for the lovely conversation and 18 years of friendship.  You are truly a kindred spirit and the sister of my heart.

The best part was coming home Sunday morning to my darling husband :)

I hate my job right now

I try not to grumble a lot about things because I am very blessed.  Usually I can deal with what comes my way and move on.  However right now I am frustrated I could just scream.  My boss is making me crazy.  I should ammend the title.  I love my job...I seriously dislike my boss.  She is the type of manager that everything is a fire.  She can not keep up on her emails and I have to call her to remind her to do something otherwise it will be lost in her inbox.  In addition she is a micro manager which I hate.  I know what I am doing.  It has been a long time since I have had a boss like this and I am not sure what to do about her.

The good part of today is that the new Norah Jones album came out and thanks to the miracles of the internet and download capabilities I am listening to it right now.

New Year's Update

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Serene
I figured I should take a moment and update people on what is going on with Kel and myself.

The store is doing really well.  We are paying our bills and the word is getting around about us.  Right now I am getting a crash course in accounting.  I love the data and inventory part.  I am not so crazy about getting all the transactions to balance.  That part is taking me some time to figure out.  The website should be up and running in the next couple of weeks.  You will be able to shop from your own home and pick it up at the store or have it shipped.  We will offer free shipping on items over a certain amount (kind of like amazon).

Kel and I are doing fabulous.  Our 1st wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks.  We are going to Sedona, AZ and the Grand Canyon for a 4 day weekend.  Neither of us have been there so we thought it would be a fun place to explore.  It is on my list of 100 things to do before I die so I am very excited about that.

I am not much for making New Years resolutions because they are often difficult to keep and they can set you up for failure.  However, this year I have decided to work on the relationships that I have in my liffe.  My relationship with myself, with my family, with my husband, with my friends are all very important.  I have gotten in to a bad habit since I got divorced of neglecting these relationships.  I am going to come up with a plan for working on those relationships over the next week or so.

We took our first Loan Application yesterday on the system that I have been working with for the last 6 months.  The travel (at least for now) is reduced to once a month.

I could not be more pleased!

Have any sites that you love the merchandise and you would like to see it at the store?  Please let me know.

Also what would you love to see in an Occult Store that you can not find locally in Dallas?
